First of all, found a cool site called TurnHere which has a good selection of fairly high-quality travel videos. Mainly US-focused, but a few international destinations are covered. I used a few for visitCanada.in and visitNewYork.in, and in the meantime have also updated new videos with Chinese descriptions for:
As it turns out, managing two versions of content both with and without Chinese is becoming a bit cumbersome, notably since there’s quite a lag getting the translated version online. So I’m going to experiment with publishing all simultaneously, then simply editing the Chinese version as translations come in. We’ll see how that goes!

Posted a few beautiful and a few interesting videos today. My favorite is posted on visitAustralia.in and has some technically well-produced video from the Great Barrier Reef. Also have a few new detailed video tours of San Francisco and Thailand on visitSanFrancisco.in and visitThailand.in, respectively. And probably the most interesting one is visitRussia.in, where a very enthusiastic representative from Russia’s tourism industry talks about new destinations and the new (long) train line running from Moscow to Sibera and in between.
Hope you enjoy – as always, Chinese translations will be available later this week…
Cheers!

Yay! Yesterday was the first day with a concerted effort at both English and Chinese descriptions for our video postings. Our first Chinese posts can be found at:
We’re still planning on updating our posts with Chinese content once a week, between Thursday and Friday, in time for weekend viewing…
Enjoy!

Today was a productive day, added more content on visitRussia.cn (and visitRussia.in), notably history, geography and demographics, and also added weather from Moscow.
I also started moving some of the yet to be developed travel sites to point to the main visitEarth.in and visitEarth.cn content page. The biggest trick was to have the visitEarth, TravelPhotos, TravelVideos and destination links point to the proper Indian or Chinese pages, which is now happening.

Some interesting new videos posted today, including a well-intentioned but surprisingly uninspiring Galapagos video from the World Wildlife Fund, riding mules into the Grand Canyon, a long tour of San Francisco and a short, cool impression of the Great Barrier Reef. You can find these new posts at Galapagos.cn, GrandCanyon.in, visitSanFrancisco.cn and visitAustralia.in.
Also, starting later this week (technically starting last week), we’ll be adding Chinese to our video posts. For now, we’ll updated our daily posts with Chinese descriptions at the end of each week and see how it goes…

Well, yesterday was pretty busy with the sites, adding new text descriptions for all the site, and duplicating the RSS news feed to be right at the top of each site. Today also went ahead and added code to have a context-sensitive link on TravelPhotos.in and TravelPhotos.cn. We’ll see how that goes.
Otherwise, added more videos today on visitSerengeti.in, visitAustralia.in, visitSingapore.cn and visitIndonesia.cn. What was really cool was that I discovered that National Geographic has put a number of their videos up on YouTube, one of which is on visitAustralia.in now.

Posted some cool videos today. There’s a great series from Monumental Adventure on London sights, so posted one on Tower Bridge. Also some new shots of Ha Long Bay in Vietnam and manta rays in Thailand. Posted a couple clips on Mayan ruins in both Mexico (Chichen Itza) and Lamanai in Belize. Finally, added videos on dolphin snorkeling in Zanzibar and an elephant crossing in the Serengeti.
Here are the sites with new vids:
